Christian Patterson | Redheaded Peckerwood + Sound Affects

SOUND AFFECTS created in 2005 is a study of Memphis, Tennessee, as a musical place. Memphis, “Birthplace of Rock’n’Roll”, but also ”Home of the Blues” in this series of photographs appears to be a visual melody made out of light and color. The series documents musical places, the history, the presence and the influence of music on the city, the musicality of the every day. With this series, Christian Patterson made his first interntional appearance as an artist working in photography, it was widly exhibited and the book to this series was published in 2008 by Edition Saune Kudendorf, Cologne. Christian Patterson, born in 1972 in Font du Lac, Wisconsin, lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
