Biography
Victoria Pidust combines photography and painting, but under extended premises: the artist adapts generative aesthetics and naturalism by transferring the genre of photography from something that depicts reality to an intrinsically creative medium for presenting modulations of reality. Pidust uses cell phone photos, screenshots, scans or computer programs for architectural models as imaging tools, and combines them in a variety of processes eventually into a montage to create new imaginary worlds. In doing so, she arbitrarily expands the concept of photography and at the same time evokes a constant remix of her own images. (Based on a text by Carla Susanne Erdmann)
Victoria Pidust (*1992 Nikopol/Ukraine) studied painting and visual communication at weißensee kunsthochschule berlin. She received DAAD study scholarship in 2015–2017. Her diploma in painting was supervised by Prof. Nader Ahriman. She lives and works in Berlin.
Victoria Pidust konglomeriert Fotografie und Malerei, allerdings unter erweiterten Vorzeichen: Die Künstlerin adaptiert generative Ästhetik und Naturalismus für ihr künstlerisches Schaffen, indem sie das Genre der Fotografie aus einem die Wirklichkeit abbildenden in ein intrinsisch schöpfendes Medium zur Darstellung der Modulation von Wirklichkeit überführt. Pidust nutzt Handyfotos, Screenshots, Scans oder Computerprogramme von fachfremden Disziplinen als Bildgebungsverfahren und kombiniert diese montagehaft zu eigenen Bildwelten. Victoria Pidust (*1992 Nikopol/Ukraine) studierte an der Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin Malerei und Visuelle Kommunikation. Für ihr Studium in Berlin erhielt sie 2015–2017 ein DAAD-Stipendium. Ihre Diplomarbeit im Fachgebiet Malerei wurde von Prof. Nader Ahriman betreut. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.
