Biography

Alina Frieske (*1994, GER) is a Berlin-based artist whose practice blends photography and painting through collage works. In assembling digital photo fragments into newly imagined scenarios and characters, she reflects on the shifting boundaries between public and private identities, the dynamics of the crowd, and the performance of the self within the digital sphere.

Alina Frieske holds an MA in Photography from the École cantonale d’art Lausanne in Switzerland and a BA in Visual Communication from the Academie Beeldende Kunsten Maastricht in the Netherlands. Her work has been exhibited, amongst others, at Arter Museum Istanbul (2025), Photo Elysée Lausanne (2025), Pipeline Contemporary London (2024), Paris Photo (2024), CPG Geneva (2024), Kunsthal Rotterdam (2022), and Festival des Images Vevey (2020). She is the recipient of the ING Talent Award (2021), Sammlung Klein Foundation Prize (2023) and the Trustee EHF fellowship by Konrad Adenauer Foundation (2024). In 2022, she published her first monograph, ‘Each and Every Part in Between’ with Ciao Press and Éditions Images Vevey.

Alina Frieske (*1994, DE) ist eine in Berlin lebende Künstlerin, deren künstlerische Praxis Fotografie und Malerei in Collagen verbindet. Indem sie digitale Fotofragmente zu neu erdachten Szenarien und Figuren zusammenfügt, reflektiert sie die fließenden Grenzen zwischen öffentlicher und privater Identität, die Dynamik der Masse und die Inszenierung des Selbst im digitalen Raum.

Alina Frieske hat einen Master in Fotografie von der École cantonale d’art Lausanne in der Schweiz und einen Bachelor in Visueller Kommunikation von der Academie Beeldende Kunsten Maastricht in den Niederlanden. Ihre Arbeiten wurden unter anderem ausgestellt im Arter Museum Istanbul (2025), im Museum Photo Elysée Lausanne (2025), bei der Pipeline Contemporary in London (2024), auf der Paris Photo (2024), bei CPG Genf (2024), in der Kunsthalle Rotterdam (2022) und auf dem Festival des Images Vevey (2020). Sie ist Trägerin des ING Talent Awards (2021), des Stiftungspreises der Sammlung Klein (2023) und des Trustee EHF-Stipendiums der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (2024). 2022 veröffentlichte sie ihre erste Monografie „Each and Every Part in Between“ bei Ciao Press und Éditions Images Vevey.
